Being outdoors can be fun and educational. Our wonderful natural environment is full of surprises waiting to be discovered.
Nature is also an important resource for our environment and is home to a multitude of species from the smallest micro-organisms to our largest trees and animals.
Leave No Trace Ireland is charity in conservation of Ireland’s natural environment who rely on the support of partners and the public to work to conserve Ireland’s outdoors, wildlife and habitats. They do this through education and awareness raising, advocacy and campaigning.
At the Heart of Leave to Trace are 7 Principles for reducing the damage caused by outdoor activities.
- Plan Ahead and Prepare
- Be Considerate of Others
- Respect Farm Animals and Wildlife
- Travel and Camp on Durable Ground
- Leave What You Find
- Dispose of Waste Properly
- Minimise the Effects of Fire
